about Pathfinders Wooden Automata:

Pathfinders Flying Pig and Running Horse Automata are mechanical toys that move with cams, levers and linkages. The Pathfinders Flying Pig and Running Horse are engineered using a minimum number of parts yet produces dramatic movement. Turn the crank – the horse gallops and the pig does indeed fly (rather flaps its wings in vain. Yes, “when pigs fly” indeed)!. The kits stimulate imaginations of kids of all ages and teach mechanics. The Pathfinders Automata kits are made with natural, untreated pine and easy to assemble. They can be painted or decorated and will last for many years. Assembled, the horse and pig both stand 10” tall. Nose to tall the horse is 9” and the pig’s wingspan is 9”. Package is 7 3/8” L x 5 1/4” W x 2 1/2” D. The Pathfinders Automata come with complete instructions and are recommended for ages 9 and up, requiring only white glue, scissors and a ruler for assembly. Personalize the Running Horse or Flying Pig Automata with a bit of your own paint if you like!

I like the postcarden. It's different from anything else I've seen, and a change from a normal card.

Well, I LOVE the automata deal on the site, of course, but also like the no nonsense cards.

I checked out their fun stuff. I like the animals best. But I must say that the crack-heads were a close second. I like the fact that I can paint the animals. I will have to get some of those.

Thanks for sharing the link!

Of the Crazy 8 Deals that I saw, my favorite is definitely the Running Horse & Flying Pig Automata! They are both so cute, and I love that you can personalize them and assemble them yourself!! Though I must say, the I Grobot is cute as well :)

The grobot! My husband currently has grass growing in a little flowerpot out in our bricked over postage stamp of a back yard (he 'mows' it with a pair of scissors!). This would definitely inspire his grass-growing hobby. ;-)

Flying Pig kit! Need I say more? (Yes? Okay, perfect for a 9 year old... or a 9 year old at heart.)

At $8 for 2, the automata kits win hands-down (hands-on?). Normally $19.95 each!

Flying Pig automata all the way! Since reading The Invention of Hugo Cabret, have totally been obsessed w/ little machines that move. Even wooden ones. Especially wooden ones?
