The Dream Ball -Packaging Fun with Cardboard

Unplug Design has engineered an interesting cardboard tube that can be made into a cardboard ball. The concept here was to design packaging for aid relief articles, so that children can recycle the packaging and have a ball to play with in the most impoverished places in the world, where any diversion is a welcome one. The idea is also to encourage some friendly interaction between aid workers and the children living in these countries.

Sure, the Dream Ball probably won't hold up for more than a game or two of soccer, but that is more than nothing, and it is an interesting solution for a cardboard tube that would have been otherwise ignored. The structure is also quite elegant and interesting.

What a brilliant idea...reusable and sustainable (up to a point)...

Oh, the cardboards can be used to suppress weeds around growing fruit trees (any non-degradable items on the cardboard should be removed before placing around the fruit trees, top the cardboard with mulch for carefree gardening)...

Thanks for the post...
