My very favorite variety of paper model. It has a lovely look to it and a mechanical component. This Movie Machine was a project between Disney and Pepsodent in 1938. The original toy was scanned and digitally restored to produce this model that is now a free download! I'm not going to have any paper toy making time myself over the holiday this year, but may be able to squeeze in this simpler model just to meet my one a year quota. How sad is that? I have a papercraft blog and rarely make any of them. I've got a short list of the Jade Dragon Automata by Steven Marshall (would also make an inexpensive last minute gift for the mere $5 donation - plus a little time for construction- But you'd rather that than go to the mall this time of year anyways.) and Paperpino's Rolling Reel Circus - two of many I've been meaning to complete for some time.
Back to the Movie Machine. Trader Sam's site which includes this model, now has a variety of Disney models available for sale on CD as well. Great gifts and a way to support the other free models on his site.
