Chris Natrop Exhibition

Okay, So I'm horrible, because I have not posted in awhile and when I finally do, It is about an event that has passed. I tried to post this one earlier in the week, but my Blogger account was having issues and It wouldn't let me add type to my images. It may have been possible to remedy the situation at the time through further investigation, but my schedule has not allowed for tinkering this week. Alas, I still believe that the work of Chris Natrop will be worth checking out even if you missed the opening. If you are in the Los Angeles area, check out the show, and if you are not, check out the website if you have not already. (I have posted him before.)

Sasatoku Revamped with New Downloads!

Sasatoku is a site with some cute paper automata that I mentioned last year on this blog. It has also been one of my links for some time. Recently, I noticed my link no longer worked, so I sought out the new site. It turns out the new version is MUCH easier to navigate than the old one and now includes lots of new free model downloads, including these cute fairy tale characters. If you are into the mechanical paper stuff like me, you'll like the simple but lovely little automata still available on the site.

Spooky Stuff and Long Time, No Post.

Okay, so I haven't posted in practically a decade, so I'm going to make it up to you by posting a bunch of links today. I've been busy with tons of projects, working on book jobs and art shows, organizing events, and launching my on-line shop for art prints and other fun stuff. Maybe one day I'll actually post an original paper toy, something I've wanted to make time to work on for some time. Until then, I'll have to borrow inspiration from the talented folks who actually get it done. So, to celebrate October, I'm posting a list of Halloween or spooky things made from paper. Most are free downloads, but a few need to be purchased. The first on my list, pictured above, are the wonderfully detailed small paper coffin boxes, perfect for holding little treats. They can be found here at the Raven's Blight website.
