Tranquility

I just finished this piece yesterday for another project, but it fit this week's Illustration Friday topic too well to ignore. This piece was actually created for Lovely Design's Beautiful Scrap Paper Project. I'll be sure to post information about that when the gallery goes up in September.

Awesome. I love it.

My two year old daughter is a little concerned though. She says, "A little girl stuck in a tree. That girl needs a big ladder."

Jaime, this is so lovely. Perfect for "lovely design" too. I'm a fan of their stuff(own a little notebook and address file) I really love the whistful and tranquil mood here, the soft colors and textures from the paper and the overall imagery. The hair flowing and sweet little blossoms...super-lovely.

i don't know... maybe its the colors of the quilted fields or the girls backpack or the feeling of being above it all that explains why i like this one so much - great job =]

I love that you can see the paper in your "fields". The image is quite lovely. The little birds and flowers blooming in the tree. Just looking over the valley, very tranquil.
(I love all of your paper posts. You find such great (free) stuff to make with paper. Thanks for sharing.)

I love this illustration. The colors are so beautiful, and it reminds me of myself as a child. I almost lived in my grandmother's apple tree. Definitely one of my favorites this week.

Jaime--

I put a link to the "Tranquility" illustration, and a link to your page, on
a page of mine
about a grid by M.C. Escher. If you look at the close-up of Escher's grid, you'll see faint numbers and letters.

Hello Steve-
Thanks for the info and the post. I really liked seeing the grid with all the numbers in it. This piece was created with grid paper because they were the scraps I was given for a specific assignment, but once I started working with them, it seemed to make the landscape into a blueprint, which was a nice unexpected outcome.

Moto Morini unveiled the new Sport 1200 and Scrambler at the motorcycle show. Both motorcycles are based on the Moto Morini 9½ Sport, but with different styling and chassis parts to give them a unique appeal.the bikes look really well. Im thinking of buying one. will probably go for the sport. gonna check out an online motorcycle insurance quote see how much this beast is gonna cost me to get on the road. then i'll have to sweet talk the girlfriend into letting me have one.
